Dr Felix Aprahamian was Vice-President of the Karg-Elert Archive from its inception in 1987. He attended the first Karg-Elert Festival in 1930 when he met the composer, becoming Secretary of the Organ Music Society the following year. Dr Aprahamian maintained an enthusiasm for Sigfrid Karg-Elert's music throughout his life; as well as attending many Karg-Elert performances he contributed programme and record sleeve notes of rare distinction.

A Memorial Concert was held in the church of All Hallows-by-the-Tower, Byward Street, EC3 on March 17, 2005. The programme reflected all that is most characteristic of Karg-Elert's unique style and included works played at the composer's Memorial Recital at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square on June 22, 1933 which Dr Aprahamian reviewed for Musical Opinion.

The programme also included music by Godfrey Sceats and Nicholas Choveaux who, with Archibald Farmer, organised the 1930 Karg-Elert Festival in St Lawrence Jewry Church from May 5-17.

The music was provided by Brian Parsons and Anthony Caldicott (organ).
